Interesting Facts
Toucans
There are about 6 different species of toucans in Costa Rica. They usually nest in tree holes that can become quite narrow, as this helps them stay warm.
Coffee
The "golden grain," as it's known here — fueled much of the country's early development. The most traditional method of preparation is to brew using a "chorreador".
Olive Ridley Sea Turtles
Over 100,000 turtles can take over Ostional's beaches in a single day. The mass arrivals occur year-round, but the peak is during the green season.
